The new Apple ipad 2 is now available in the UK through Apple Stores. UK mobile broadband providers Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange also sell the latest iPads directly to their customers.

iPad 2 Vs iPad

The iPad 2 differs from the previous version (iPad), when it comes to following features.

• The iPad 2 tablet comes with dual-core A5 processor (CPU) which makes it faster than the old iPad.
• The improved processing speeds that the iPad 2 shows when handling tasks like internet browsing are much due to the latest iOS 4.3 operating system that it comes with.
• When it comes to graphics and image & video element, the new Apple internet tablet’s performance is amazing due to its dedicated GPU which its predecessor lacks.
• The iPad 2 has much thinner profile as it is just 8.8mm thick, comparing to iPad’s 13.4mm.
• It is also lighter. Its basic version (Wi-Fi only) weighs just 600g. (iPad weighs around 725g).
• The iPad 2 comes with rear and front cameras which the orginal version lacks.
• When it comes to battery life, Apple iPads still lead other tablets. The new tablet comes with same long battery life of 10 hrs like its predecessor.

Apple iPad 2 Features

• Apple iPad 2 is similar to orginal ipad when it comes to display. Both come with 9.7″ screen and same resolution (1,024×768 pixels).
• With iPad 2, you can use various Apps including GarageBand, Photo Booth, iMovie (for editing movies), FaceTime, games and iTunes.
• Apple iPad 2 does not use Flash means you cannot view these web contents on its screen. Howver, its browser is faster, when it comes to loading web pages.
• The iPad 2 comes with strong, aluminium case which can be detached. You can use leather case for protection from scratch etc.
• Pricing of iPad 2 is reasonable or even cheaper, comparing to the price of the first iPad when it was released a year earlier. Like iPad, the new version comes in three memory sizes – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. There are two models – Wi-Fi Only and Wi-Fi + 3G.
• The cheapest 16GB Wi-Fi-only iPad 2 is priced at £399. The 32GB and 64GB versions will cost £479 and £559 respectively.
• The 3G enabled 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPad 2 tablets will cost around £499, £579 and £659 respectively.
