LTE based 4G Mobile Broadband set to become cheaper by 2016LTE (Long Term Evolution) based 4G mobile broadband services are set to become cheaper in the next five years, according to the forecast by the research firm Tariff Consultancy (TCL).

By 2016, total LTE Mobile broadband subscriptions will reach over 250 million while monthly prices in Europe could fall by 60% from 50 Euro to 20 Euro, TCL says.

More than half of the LTE networks in Europe will launch the products by the end of this year while other regions including Asia Pacific and North America will get access to LTE mobile internet services next year.

The growing competition among LTE providers will result in consumer price reduction, expects Margrit Sessions, managing director of TCL.

“LTE mobile broadband services will start to adopt the same mass market characteristics of the existing fixed broadband and 3G mobile broadband services with increased speeds but price competition” he said.

Long Term Evolution mobile technology promises increased mobile data access speeds, higher network capacity and wider coverage.
